Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been won on hard surfaces

A revitalized Medvedev secured his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The athlete, a ex- number one, has experienced a torrid year, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.

The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the top ten and eventually separating with long-time coach his previous coach.

Presently training with his coach and his other coach, Medvedev has steadily advanced in the past month - culminating in a tightly fought three-set victory over challenger Moutet.

This represents the player's initial championship following the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt since March of that year.

Victory also signifies the Russian has achieved 21 championships at 21 various tournaments.

"For the first time I'm at a tournament with my children at once, so to get a trophy is really nice," said ranked player the champion.

"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my child her name was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six finals, including in the German tournament in the past months.

Medvedev's retrieving play style and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had caused some to wonder if his skill to play at the top level was over.

But the player has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to advance forward and play aggressively, supported by an improved serve.

He fought back from a disadvantage in the first set against the challenging Moutet, winning four of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.

Both players swapped break points in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial tour championship, took control to create a decider.

He defended 4 early opportunities in a competitive deciding set before the Russian secured a break to that score to secure the win.

Suitably, Medvedev earned victory with a point at the net area, with Moutet unable to control a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
